Ground & access
Steep descent with many switchbacks, so the return is a long climb. Ford of Calamity Creek. The area is inside an old wildfire burn, and logs can be trapped in the falls.

Upper Siouxon Falls is the uppermost waterfall on Siouxon Creek, a 16-foot plunge off a ledge into a pool, in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Oregon Hikers describes the approach from the Upper Siouxon Creek Trailhead: the trail drops steeply through many switchbacks to the bottom of the slope near Siouxon Creek. Keep to the west side of the creek, where the trail is maintained; the old trail on the east side is in very bad shape. The trail drops to wide but shallow Calamity Creek, which must be forded, then descends through mossy woods. A short spur on the right leads to the view of the falls. Return the same way, climbing back up the long descent.
