Ground & access
Steep descent with many switchbacks, so the return is a long climb. Ford of Calamity Creek. Rough scramble and bushwhack for a clear view.

Middle Siouxon Falls is the highest waterfall on Siouxon Creek itself, about 37 to 40 feet, in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Oregon Hikers describes an approach from the Upper Siouxon Creek Trailhead: the trail descends steeply through many switchbacks to the bottom of the slope near Siouxon Creek. Stay on the west side of the creek, where the trail is maintained; the old trail on the east side is in very bad shape. The trail drops to wide but shallow Calamity Creek, which must be forded, passes a short spur to 16-foot Upper Siouxon Falls, then rises above Middle Siouxon Falls. The trailside view is not ideal. A better view needs a scramble down from a low point on the trail and a bushwhack along the creek to some large logs. Return the same way, climbing back up the long descent.
