About Waterfall Near Me

We help you find a waterfall and understand the visit before you travel. Start with the nearby map directory, or use the visit planner to compare walks and viewpoints.

What we add

Our visit guides separate a short waterfall view from a longer hike. They bring together the route, steps or steep ground, starting point and seasonal considerations so you can compare your options.

Detailed guides include Multnomah, Latourell, Lower Yosemite, Brandywine, Mingo and Snoqualmie Falls. These guides use published visitor information; they are not firsthand reports from our own visits. A map listing alone is not a confirmed walking route.

Where the information comes from

Waterfall locations and the wider directory use OpenStreetMap data. The current map snapshot was retrieved September 24, 2026. Counties use U.S. Census boundaries; town names use GeoNames. Nearby places are selected by straight-line distance, which is different from a drive or hike.

Detailed visit information comes from park agencies, land managers and official visitor resources. We keep the supporting research in our project records. Relevant visitor and park-notice links appear with the visit details.

Heights in the map directory are contributed measurements. Some refer to one drop within a larger waterfall. Where sources disagree, we qualify the figure instead of presenting false precision.

Photos and illustrations

Waterfall photographs come from Wikimedia Commons. Each large photograph includes its creator, source and licence in the photo credit. Small directory thumbnails link to a waterfall page with the full credit. Our decorative waterfall illustrations do not depict a specific walking route.
