- Long forest trail with a log crossing or shallow ford of Chinook Creek, a very brushy section, and a treacherous crossing of Wildcat Creek over slippery logs and rocks. The falls are only partly visible from the trail.
Lower Wildcat Falls is a 40-foot drop on Wildcat Creek in the Siouxon Creek area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, below the much taller Wildcat Falls. Oregon Hikers describes the approach from the Siouxon Trailhead: follow the Siouxon Trail upstream to the crossing below Chinook Falls and cross on a large chained log, or ford the shallow stream. Beyond, the trail is very brushy. At the Chinook-Wildcat Trail Junction keep left on the Wildcat Trail #136, which rises above the creek and then drops to Wildcat Creek. Cross Wildcat Creek over slippery logs and rocks to the Wildcat-Siouxon Crossing Trail Junction, then head up the Wildcat Trail toward Wildcat Falls. On the way you pass Lower Wildcat Falls and a 25-foot slide falls, both only partly visible from the trail. Return the same way.
