Upper Granite Falls is on Granite Creek above Lower Granite Falls, beside the Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Cedars in Pend Oreille County near the Idaho border. From the south end of the Stagger Inn parking area, follow the main trail to a junction and turn left toward the overlook. The trail climbs to a viewing platform above Lower Granite Falls, then continues up switchbacks past Upper Granite Falls before meeting Trail 301. Visit North Idaho says both Lower and Upper Granite Falls can be seen from the vista points on this loop. Return to the parking area on Trail 301, or continue to the upper cedar grove. The Northwest Waterfall Survey uses the name Upper Granite Falls for a different, unnamed 20-foot drop much farther up the creek; this guide is for the falls passed on the loop trail, and which drop the loop trail sources mean is not confirmed.
