Rumford Falls is a series of cascades below dams on the Androscoggin River in downtown Rumford, with a total drop of 176 feet. The upper falls, at the mapped point, are seen in the distance across a reservoir beside a dam from J. Eugene Boivin Park and the Bridge Street bridge sidewalks. Most water is diverted from the upper falls, so they flow best in spring. When they are flowing well, a dirt road on the east side of the river upstream from Bridge Street gives closer views.
