Steep initial descent with an uphill return, creek crossing and slippery rock near drop-offs. The 2024 visit encountered fallen trees. Do not rely on an old fixed rope described in the 2023 account.

Where to start

Both accounts identify a small unmarked dirt/gravel clearing west of Highway 7 near 35.7162,-93.0987, south of the Sand Gap junction. Current authorization for this informal parking area is unconfirmed; keep the highway clear.
