Salmon Cascades is a short, steep rapid where the Sol Duc River squeezes through a narrow rock gorge in Olympic National Park; the drop is about 5 feet at low flow and close to 15 feet in high water. It is about 7 miles up Sol Duc Valley Road from Highway 101. The cascade is easily seen from the road, and there is parking a short way farther along, with a short path to a deck overlooking the cascade. Return the same way.
