Walk a short way up Yellow Gap Road and turn left on the blue-blazed Barnett Branch Trail #618. In 10 to 15 minutes, just before the trail starts switchbacking, a short side path leads to the main 25-foot falls. For the upper falls, continue on the trail: it heads up to the right, switchbacks left over a log bridge, returns to the creek at a slide, and continues a short distance to a 30-foot falls covered in downed wood. The sources do not give this upper falls a name.

Small pull-off where Barnett Branch Trail crosses Yellow Gap Road (Forest Road 1206), 1.2 to 1.3 miles from US 276. Room for a couple of vehicles. Published coordinates: 35.36821, -82.77013.
Timing & water
The Forest Service lists Yellow Gap Road open from US 276 to Wolf Ford Horse Camp, which covers this pull-off. It also lists Barnett Branch Trail #618 as closed for maintenance at its Pink Beds Loop Trail connection; the sources do not say whether this affects the Yellow Gap Road end used here.
