Middle Falls on the Genesee River in Rochester was once a wide cascade about a dozen feet high. It is now capped by a hydroelectric dam. From the Maplewood Park lot off Driving Park Avenue, head toward the restroom building east of the rose garden and take the trail into Lower Falls Park. A viewing area shows the crest of Lower Falls. From the south end of the park, a paved trail leads over the Middle Falls dam, where you can see water rushing over it. Turn back, or continue to St. Paul Street.
