Park at Caribou Falls State Wayside at Highway 61 milepost 70.5. Follow the Caribou River spur of the Superior Hiking Trail up the east side of the river. A long set of wooden stairs leads down to the base of the 35-foot falls. Return the same way.

Where to start

Caribou Falls State Wayside lot at Highway 61 milepost 70.5, on the left side of the highway heading northeast. Six-hour parking limit; no overnight parking.

Timing & water

The DNR says the wayside is open from May until November and is not plowed or accessible in winter.
