Walk the rough access road to the T-junction, turn right and then slightly left toward Dover Creek and the dam. Pass the reservoir and follow the gorge-edge path to the easier upper viewpoint. Return the same way; the steep scramble to the base is optional and excluded here.

Golf Course Road past the dam to Upper Hungarian Falls

Tourism's roughly 2-mile figure covers exploring the gorge and multiple waterfalls. It is not assigned to this individual endpoint.

Rustic paths with roots, rough ground and unprotected cliffs. Keep away from drop-offs and stay on established main paths.

Where to start

From M-26 in Tamarack City, turn west onto 6th Street, bear left onto Golf Course Road, then continue uphill about 0.5 mile to the rough access road on the left. Park along Golf Course Road. The land trust says cars should not drive the rugged access road.

Timing & water

Open year-round, but Golf Course Road is seasonal and unplowed in winter. These parking directions describe the warmer-month approach.

Before you go

Tourism describes free public access. Camping and fires are prohibited.
