Slate River Falls is a 10-foot drop into a deep pool where the Slate River leaves its gorge. Park on either side of the Slate River bridge on Skanee Road, about 11 miles east of L'Anse, and follow the river upstream to the falls. Going farther upstream to other drops involves a tough climb. Slate Falls is most likely this lowest drop.
