The December 2022 firsthand account reaches Penhook Falls by leaving an ATV/horse trail for a drainage and descending through a bluff break to the creek. The exact bluff break and final creek junction are not identified well enough for a complete route.

Adventuring Arkansas’s 5.3-mile return outing includes five waterfalls and begins at the lower Snow Creek parking. It is not a Penhook-only distance or an upper-parking distance.

Where to start
The author actually parked at the small pullout before Snow Creek on Forest Road 1376 off Highway 27 north of Hector. A second parking area was encountered half a mile farther; current vehicle access to it is unknown.
