Upper Cherry Creek Falls is a 25-foot horsetail on Cherry Creek just above a logging road, on Washington Department of Natural Resources land in Marckworth State Forest. From Duvall, take Highway 203 north and bear right on NE Cherry Valley Road, which becomes Kelly Road NE. At 6.6 miles from Highway 203 turn hard left on NE Stossel Creek Way. The pavement ends after 1.4 miles at the state forest sign; continue on gravel for another 6.3 miles, keeping left at the junction at 4.5 miles. Just after the road crosses Cherry Creek beside a small 7-foot falls, park at the junction with the gate ahead, without blocking the gate. Walk the gated road for just over a mile and a half, keeping right at all junctions, to a second bridge over Cherry Creek with the falls just upstream. Closer views need a scramble up the creek from a small informal campsite past the bridge. Fallen trees in the gully can block a clear view of the falls.
