Lower Labyrinth Falls splashes down the rock cutting of the abandoned Old Highway 8 on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge, east of Bingen in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Oregon Hikers says the falls formed when Highway 8 was built and gained a second tier when Highway 14 was built later. From the gravel parking area at the junction of Highway 14 and Old Highway 8, walk west along the abandoned roadbed below basalt cliffs. Cross a rock slide and pass the falls where they come down over the road cutting. Return the same way, or continue a short way past a grassy promontory to the Labyrinth Trail junction and climb Trail 4423 to Labyrinth Falls.
