Crooked Creek Falls is on the Bird Lake Trail in Bird Creek Meadows, on Yakama Nation land on the southeast side of Mount Adams. The Yakama Nation opens this area to the general public only at certain times of year, usually for a short period in late summer, and may close it for fire danger. Check open dates and day-use fees with the Yakama Nation before going. From the south end of Bird Lake, walk the short spur road to the left and find the unsigned start of the Bird Lake Trail, marked by flagging through burned trees. The trail crosses Crooked Creek three times; at the second bridge it turns 90 degrees left, and hikers have gotten lost by going straight. Crooked Creek Falls appears at just over a mile. Return the same way or continue on the loop.
