The directions describe 1.2 miles along forest roads, then 0.6 mile on the trail as approach legs, not return mileage. Another paragraph states an additional 1.5 miles each way from the trailhead. No total is asserted. The four-mile return hike on the same page is Squibb Creek, not this waterfall.

Forest-road walking and multiple creek crossings; the falls trail follows the creek with five crossings. Crossing conditions are unverified.

Where to start

The page directs visitors to Horse Creek Picnic Area parking, reached by following Horse Creek Recreation Area signs from TN 107 north of Greeneville. Its Pete’s Branch directions then continue on FR 94 and FR 94B.

Timing & water

The reviewed USFS page is marked open. It recommends wet spring and fall for flow, but creek-crossing conditions require checking; dry periods may have little water. Checked 2026-10-27.
