Burgess Falls is the 136-foot lower falls, the last and tallest of four waterfalls on the Falling Water River in Burgess Falls State Park. The River Trail leaves the parking lot and follows the river past the cascades, the upper falls and the middle falls to the main falls overlook. Tennessee State Parks says most people return to the parking lot along the gravel service road. There is no access to the base of the falls from the park; the park says the base is reached by boat or kayak from the Cane Hollow Recreation Area. There is no designated swim area.
