Rainie Falls is a large rapid with a drop of about 6 to 10 feet on the wild section of the Rogue National Wild and Scenic River. From Grants Pass, take I-5 to Exit 61 at Merlin and follow the Merlin-Galice Road northwest for 23 miles to Grave Creek. The Rainie Falls Trail runs downstream on the opposite side of the river from the Rogue River National Recreation Trail, through oak and madrone, to the falls. A little over a mile along, look for the remains of a 1908 suspension bridge abutment. Return the same way.
