Merry Falls is beside unpaved Cascade Lake Road. From the pull-off, an obvious path goes a few feet to an overlook. A path continues down to a middle viewing area and then steeply to the base. Kevin Adams says the falls were on private land in 2016, when visitors had to stay in the road right-of-way; the state has since acquired the land, and Rich Stevenson says it was donated to DuPont State Recreational Forest in 2018.

Where to start

Room for about one car to pull off the gravel road opposite the falls, 1.8 miles past the Staton Road junction on Cascade Lake Road. Cascade Lake Road leaves US 276 at Cedar Mountain. Do not block traffic. Published coordinates: 35.200767, -82.643597.
