- Mostly wide unpaved forest roads with a short trail at the end. The sloping bedrock of the falls is extremely slippery and climbing on the waterfall is against forest regulations.
From High Falls Access, follow Buck Forest Road past the gate and over the covered bridge, turn right on Conservation Road, then right on Bridal Veil Falls Road to the traffic circle, where a wide path reaches the base of the falls. From Fawn Lake Access, Waterfall Hero follows Conservation Road 1.5 miles to Bridal Veil Falls Road and then half a mile to the end. A sign at the base says to stay on the marked trail. Return the same way.

DuPont State Recreational Forest roads to Bridal Veil Falls
Waterfall Hero gives 4.2 miles for the Fawn Lake route. Kevin Adams gives about 2.4 miles one way from High Falls Access (0.5 miles on Buck Forest Road, 1.2 miles on Conservation Road, under 0.5 miles on Bridal Veil Falls Road and about 0.15 miles of path); the return figure doubles that.

High Falls Access on Staton Road has a visitor center and parking; Adams gives GPS 35.191761, -82.621697. Fawn Lake Access is off Reasonover Road at GPS 35.16093, -82.60420. The N.C. Forest Service reported improvement work along Buck Forest Road from September 28 with no closures expected.
Timing & water
Open year round. The forest is very busy on summer and fall weekends.
