The walk
About 5 miles return
Ground & access
Multi-use trail on an old road (loses about 500 feet), then a faint, steep unofficial path dropping about 200 feet and a scramble. Fragile spray-zone plants; do not climb the falls.

From the Frozen Creek Access, take the Augur Hole and Canebrake trails, then stay right on the orange-blazed Augur Hole Trail. Just under 2.5 miles from the lot the trail curves right; on the outside of the curve a faint path leads down the ridge to Augur Fork Creek at its confluence with Maple Spring Branch. Maple Spring Branch Falls is to the right, opposite Augur Fork Falls. Its lower part is hidden; a steep, slippery scramble path to the right of the lowest drop climbs to a level spot with a view.
