From US 64 west of Brevard, turn left on Frozen Creek Road and drive 3 miles to the Frozen Creek Access parking of Gorges State Park on the right. Take the combined Auger Hole and Cane Brake Trail; at 0.7 miles stay right on Auger Hole Trail. At about 3 miles the trail runs high above Chub Line Falls, roughly 300 feet before the Wintergreen Trail split, and the falls can be heard. There is no trail from here. The descent to the Toxaway River is very steep, and seeing the 25 to 40 foot falls from the base requires wading in the river. Both accounts call this suitable only for experienced off-trail hikers. This is a partial guide: the final approach is an unmarked bushwhack.
