Very difficult. River ford, then an extremely steep, overgrown off-trail bushwhack. Slippery rocks.

Bear Canyon Falls is a 25-foot falls in a small canyon on Bearwallow Creek deep in Gorges State Park. From the Frozen Creek Access parking, take the combined Augur Hole and Cane Brake trails, then stay right on the Augur Hole Trail at 0.7 mile. Cross the Toxaway River at a concrete ford at 3.6 miles. At 4.4 miles, at the Bearwallow Creek ford, do not cross. From there there is no trail: bushwhack upstream through steep, dense rhododendron past smaller cascades to where the creek turns right and the falls drop through a small canyon. Current status of the Augur Hole Trail was not confirmed; a search result reported a 2019 landslide closure on another section.
