Ground & access
Easy to moderate trail with two footbridges, then a short open bushwhack and a steep overgrown scramble to the base.

This 12 to 15 foot waterfall on Clawhammer Cove Creek is in the Avery Creek area of Pisgah National Forest near Brevard. From the blue-blazed Avery Creek Trail (#327) trailhead on FR 477, descend to Avery Creek, cross the footbridge and go right on Clawhammer Cove Trail (#342), which follows Clawhammer Cove Creek upstream and crosses it on a footbridge in about 0.75 mile. Just after the crossing, where two blue blazes mark a tree, leave the trail and go about 100 feet up the creek to the falls; a steep bank must be scrambled for a clear view.
