Short uphill trail with 160 feet of climbing. Smooth, wet rock at the slide.

Bear Slides is a natural waterslide on Buttermilk Brook in the Hudson River Recreation Area of the Lake George Wild Forest, in the town of Warrensburg. From the second parking area on River Road, look for a small house-shaped sign with a 6 on it next to a rock with a red trail marker. The short uphill trail leads to the slide, where there are two picnic tables. The water is not deep enough to swim, but there is wading. Return the same way.
