Glacier Gorge Trailhead past Alberta Falls to the Mills Lake trail and the unmarked spur to Glacier Falls

Z and B Johnson Adventures gives about 2.25 miles from the Glacier Gorge Trailhead and about 2.4 miles from the Bear Lake Trailhead. Return distances are about double; not separately measured.

Where to start

Glacier Gorge Trailhead lot on Bear Lake Road, about 8.1 miles from the Beaver Meadows area turn-off. If it is full, continue to the Bear Lake parking area. The lots fill early in summer; the park shuttle also serves the corridor in season.

Timing & water

Snow can remain on this trail into early summer. Current trail conditions were not checked for a specific date.

Before you go

A park entrance pass is required at all times. In 2026 a Timed Entry plus Bear Lake Road reservation was required to enter the Bear Lake Road corridor between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. from May 22 to October 18. Check the park site for the current season.
