The survey places the better viewing area a little under half a mile from the trailhead. This is a distant view, not a route to the base.

Where to start

Use West Fork Foss Lakes trailhead at the end of Road 6835. WTA directs drivers from US 2 onto Foss River Road 68, then left onto 6835; some maps incorrectly keep the route on Road 68. The final approach is unpaved with potholes.

Timing & water

Snow and road conditions affect access. The survey notes reduced flow toward late summer and autumn.

Before you go

Northwest Forest Pass or accepted equivalent required at the trailhead, according to WTA.
