Ground & access
Forest and clearcut trail with long climbs and descents. Detours around logging operations are possible.

Hidden Falls drops down a mossy cliff on the South Fork Coyote Creek in Yacolt Burn State Forest, managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. From the Tarbell Picnic Area, take the railed trail up past the picnic tables, go right past Milepost 0.0, and at the signed Tarbell Trailhead Junction go left for Hidden Falls. The trail climbs through clearcuts and forest, crosses gravel road L1121, keeps left at the Tarbell-Silver Shadow junction, traverses Kloochman Butte and keeps straight at the Tarbell-Chinook junction. At a logging road go right about 25 yards to pick up the trail again, switchback down to the footbridge over the North Fork Coyote Creek, pass Milepost 5.0 and the Appaloosa Trail junction, and descend to a bridge over the South Fork Coyote Creek with a view up to the falls and a bench. Return the same way. The trail is shared with mountain bikers and horses.
