Fairy Falls is a tiered waterfall of nearly 600 feet over a headwall of upper Stevens Canyon in Mount Rainier National Park. The NPS says its location is inaccessible and it is best viewed from a distance, with binoculars. Go to the Snow Lake trailhead on Stevens Canyon Road and look north across the upper end of Stevens Canyon; it can also be seen from the hairpin pull-off on Stevens Canyon Road below the trailhead. Visit Rainier discourages going to the falls because they are off trail.

Where to start

Snow Lake and Bench Lake trailhead turnout on Stevens Canyon Road. Visit Rainier says to go 15.6 miles from the Nisqually entrance to the Stevens Canyon turnoff, turn right and drive three miles east past Reflection Lakes and Louise Lake to a small turnout on the right.

Timing & water

The falls once ran all year but now dwindle to a trickle by late summer as the snowpack melts.

Before you go

A Mount Rainier National Park entrance fee is required: $30 per private vehicle, valid for seven consecutive days. The NPS says timed entry reservations are not currently required anywhere in the park.
