Walk the short paved path from the Fall Creek Falls overlook lot to the viewing platform. Coon Creek Falls is the thinner seasonal waterfall on the right of Fall Creek Falls. Two firsthand accounts explicitly identify this shared viewpoint. The optional Base of Falls Trail is a separate strenuous descent; the current park page gives 0.35 mile down, with a steep return.

50 yards is the firsthand estimate to the overlook. The official 0.35 mile refers to the separate base descent, not this short viewpoint walk.

Paved overlook approach. Optional base hike has rock steps and steep grades.

Where to start

Use the Fall Creek Falls overlook parking lot on Scenic Loop Road. The firsthand route gives trailhead coordinates 35.66727,-85.35752. Follow park signs to the falls overlook rather than the Betty Dunn Nature Center.

Timing & water

Seasonal flow, strongest in spring or after rain. Park alerts list Piney Falls and Millikan trail closures; do not use the older six-waterfall loop itinerary as a current open route.
