Sids Falls is a 50-foot waterfall on Shoulder Bone Branch, a tributary of Opossum Creek, in the Andrew Pickens Ranger District of Sumter National Forest. It is named for Sid Ballenger Jr., who wrote the first book on Oconee County waterfalls. From the red gate at FS 2616 (Opossum Creek Road) near Damascus Baptist Church, walk the wide, easy forest road past three meadows to its end at the fourth meadow. A rough path cut by a waterfall enthusiast starts at the end of the fourth meadow, often hidden by thick brush but marked with orange tape. It descends gently, then steeply near the end, to the falls. Return the same way.
