Charco Prieto, also called Poza Prieta, is a tall waterfall in the hills of Barrio Nuevo in Bayamón. From Route 167 at Km 10.1, turn onto Road 812 and follow Puerto Rico Day Trips' local road directions to a bridge over a small stream, and park there. A concrete sign reading Charco Prieto stands by the road. The easiest entrance is just uphill of a small fenced house; cross the river to a thin, worn path. Most of the way is a river trek over slippery rocks, with several crossings, smaller falls and pools, and a short rope-assisted climb. The path is unmarked and not always obvious. The land status along the path is not stated by the sources. Return the same way.
