Sequoah Falls is the water spilling over Lake Sequoyah Dam on the Cullasaja River, a concrete dam about 22 feet high that the Town of Highlands built in 1926. The lake and dam are spelled Sequoyah. From the junction of US 64 and NC 106 in Highlands, drive 1.9 miles west on US 64 and park in the pullout on the left, just past the lake. The dam can be seen from the pullout. A short path descends to the base of the dam, which is the top of Kalakalaski Falls #1, a separate natural waterfall.
