- Level old road through hardwoods and white pine, then a short steep scramble; the slanted rock at the base is very slippery when wet. This is also a public game land; wear blaze orange in hunting seasons.
From the cabled gravel drive on the left of Glady Fork Road, 2.6 to 2.8 miles from East Fork Road, walk past the cable and the Headwaters State Forest sign. At 0.1 miles take the right fork downhill. Stay on the main road past overgrown side roads; at 0.5 miles pass a path on the right. Where the road ends two trails continue toward the falls: the right one reaches the top of the 20-foot cascade (stay on dry rock, away from the brink), the left one passes a view of the falls and then a short, steep scramble to the base and its sandy pool. Return the same way.
