Summer Falls is a waterfall formed by irrigation water from Banks Lake, falling over the cliffs at the head of Trail Lake Coulee into Billy Clapp Lake. The Bureau of Reclamation runs the Summer Falls Day Use Area here, with picnic tables, barbecues and views of the falls. From US 2 in Coulee City, follow signs for Summer Falls through town to McEntee Street, which becomes Pinto Ridge Road. Drive about 8 miles to a dirt road on the left, about 2 1/2 miles after crossing the Main Canal; the sign and gate are hard to see from the main road. The park is 1 mile down the dirt road. Flow depends on the nearby hydroelectric plant and can be low. Do not enter the water: releases can raise water levels without warning.
