Rainbow Falls drops 312 feet into the Stehekin Valley in Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, part of the North Cascades National Park Service Complex. It is beside the Stehekin Valley Road about 3.5 miles from Stehekin Landing. Lower and upper viewpoints are a short walk from the parking lot; the lower viewpoint is wheelchair accessible. In summer a shuttle runs from the Stehekin dock to the falls. Travel to Stehekin itself is not described here.

The National Park Service places the falls about 3.5 miles from Stehekin Landing along the Stehekin Valley Road. That is a road distance, not the walk to the viewpoints, which NPS calls a short walk.

Timing & water

The falls flow year-round and are largest during spring runoff, usually in May and June. The shuttle to the falls runs in summer.

There is no fee to enter the North Cascades National Park Service Complex. NPS notes that shuttle, ferry or other transportation can carry a fee.
