Quad Falls is a four-tier falls of about 60 feet on the East Fork Duncan Creek, on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. Oregon Hikers says the route crosses State of Washington, Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Friends of the Gorge Land Trust property, and that the trail is user-built, rooty and steep in places but usually easy to follow. From the turnaround, walk back down the road, cross the road bridge over Duncan Creek, go around the crash barrier on the north side and take the obvious path up; about 25 yards from the road the trail branches left up the bluff. Cross a plank bridge over the West Fork Duncan Creek, climb to the ridge, then drop to a campsite above the East Fork and hike upstream. Pass above a narrow defile and a wider waterfall that is part of the Lower Quad Falls group. The trail drops and rises to a spur with a view of Quad Falls roaring down a narrow gorge; a little higher, after crossing an old roadbed, there is a view of its highest tier. Return the same way. The survey says clear views of the whole falls need a steep scramble into the gorge.
