- Ground & access
- Wide forest trail, an off-trail creekside section, steep climbs and descents on the Loyalsock Trail, and a wooden ladder at Rode Falls. The RX-5 detour avoids the ladder.
This listing matches Rode Falls, a waterfall about 12 feet high on Ketchum Run in Loyalsock State Forest; the source calls it Rode Falls. From the gate on High Knob Road, follow the yellow- and blue-blazed Ketchum Run Trail about seven-tenths of a mile to a small bridge over Ketchum Run. The source route then follows the creek off trail for about three-tenths of a mile on the right bank (facing downstream) to Ketchum Run Falls, joins the Loyalsock Trail, passes Lee Falls and climbs over a ridge. Where a sign marks the RX-5 detour, the Loyalsock Trail descends to Rode Falls, where a sturdy wooden ladder leads to the base. For an all-trail option, the source describes crossing the bridge and following the overgrown Ketchum Run Trail grade about half a mile to the Loyalsock Trail. Return the same way.
