Upper Heather Canyon Falls is the top of a series of waterfalls in Heather Canyon, where the Timberline Trail crosses Heather Creek just east of the Mount Hood Meadows ski area on Mount Hood. On the Clark Creek Loop, start on the Elk Meadows Trail, keep straight at the Umbrella Falls Trail junction, cross Clark Creek on a footbridge into the Mount Hood Wilderness, and turn left on the Newton Creek Trail for a two-mile climb. Turn left on the Timberline Trail, descend a big moraine, pick your way across glacial Clark Creek, and climb to the open slope on Heather Creek with its three cascading waterfalls. The trail crosses Heather Creek above the upper falls. Continue the loop on the Jack's Woods, Bear Grass and Umbrella Falls trails back to the trailhead, or return the way you came.
