Twin Falls is beside the road but on private land, where lots were sold and a large home built. An older NC Waterfalls page says the road at the top of the falls is public and you can look down toward the top of the falls from the bridge over the Thompson River. It asks visitors to respect the private property if the old paths down are posted.

Where to start

From US 64 at Lake Toxaway take NC 281 south 5 miles, turn right on Whitewater Church Road (it becomes Upper Whitewater Road at a church), and go about 1.6 miles to the bridge over the Thompson River. No parking area is described.
