Moosejaw Falls is a Class III rapid on the Haw River, not a tall waterfall. Park at the upper access, 348 River Access Road, Pittsboro, by the US 64 bridge. The path starts at the downstream end of the parking area; cross a small branch right away, easiest from the upper corner, then follow the path along the river over sand, roots and rocks. At the steep rock at Gabriels Bend rapid, climb up and around and come back down to the river a little below; the forest is open. Scramble a little on large rocks to reach the falls. From the lower access at Robeson Creek Canoe Launch off Hanks Chapel Road, cross the small stream by a path about 100 feet back up the road and follow the river path upstream about half a mile.
