NC State Parks: Mayo River State Park, Deshazo Mill Access

From the Deshazo Mill Access parking area in Mayo River State Park, follow the Fall Creek Falls trail past the picnic area and down to Fall Creek. The trail reaches the top of the 15 foot falls first and continues to the base. Beyond the falls it follows Fall Creek to the Mayo River and upriver to the Virginia line. Return the same way.

NC State Parks says the Fall Creek Falls trail is located 0.2 miles from the parking lot; Waterfall Hero gives 0.25 miles for its walk to the base. The trail continues 0.5 miles past the falls to the Mayo River.

Where to start

Deshazo Mill Access, 628 Deshazo Mill Road, Stoneville. From US 220 take the Smith Road exit, then Anglin Mill Road and Deshazo Road to the gravel parking area on the left. Waterfall Hero gives GPS 36.54115, -79.98296.
