Road shoulder walk, then an informal path through conifers to an unfenced cliff edge with 100 to 200-foot drops. Slippery pine needles. Not suitable for children.

Bridal Veil Falls is a plunge of about 90 feet on Plattekill Creek, the third falls in Platte Clove, on New York State land. The top and base of the falls are very dangerous, and Catskill Mountaineer does not recommend going to either. The view it recommends is from Bridal Veil Lookout, across the clove. From the Kaaterskill High Peak parking area, walk along Platte Clove Road past the Hell's Hole Creek bridge and past the old parking lot. About 100 feet past it, where the road touches DEC land, cross the guardrail and follow the path back toward Hell's Hole ravine, downhill through conifers to the edge of the clove. The lookout sits between Platte Clove and Hell's Hole. Catskill Mountaineer says more people have died at this lookout than anywhere else in Platte Clove: the drops are 100 to 200 feet and the pine needles are very slippery. Stay well back from the edge.
