Ground & access
Downhill first and uphill on the return. Exposed and hot on the middle section. The climb past the lower falls crosses slippery cut steps in granite; the visitor advises against it when wet. Above the lower falls there is not much of a trail; watch for poison oak.

From the Switzer Picnic Area, about 10 miles up Angeles Crest Highway from the 210 Freeway, start near the restrooms and cross the bridge. The trail follows the stream downhill, then climbs an exposed slope to a junction, where you descend into the canyon to lower Switzer Falls. A small path climbs the granite beside the falls; above it, follow the creek a quarter to half mile to Upper Switzer Falls. Return the same way.
