The 10.6 km return figure comes from one commercial trail guide. Other trail listings give 6.8 miles return or a short spur of about 0.6 mile from Douglas Spring Trail. These were not reconciled, so treat the distance as approximate.

Where to start

The National Park Service places the Douglas Spring trailhead at the eastern end of Speedway Boulevard, south side. It has a designated parking area, and in the busy season cars also park along the road shoulder. The area is open 24 hours and the NPS advises leaving no valuables in the car.

Timing & water

The falls run most reliably in winter or after heavy rain. They can be dry, so check conditions. Desert heat is a hazard in the afternoon.

Before you go

No trailhead fee was named in the NPS trailhead description. Confirm current park fees and rules with Saguaro National Park.
