Confusion Falls is a small double waterfall where two streams meet, just downstream of Moonshine Falls on a tributary of Matthews Creek in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area. The Upcountry South Carolina listing starts at Asbury Hills Camp and asks hikers to call the camp for permission first. Follow the Asbury Trail to the cable crossing of Matthews Creek, turn right on the pink-blazed Naturaland Trust Trail, then take the side trail past an old kiosk to a rock pile with red paint that marks the Moonshine Falls spur. The path to Confusion Falls leaves from the top of the ridge above Moonshine Falls. A visitor account describes losing the faint path and descending a steep slope to the creek. Return the same way.
