Beech Bottom Falls, formerly called Pinnacle Falls, is a tall multi-tiered falls in the Jocassee Gorges area near Sunset, reached by a nature trail built by the SC Department of Natural Resources. From the parking area, walk north on the old roadbed and gravel road past the gate; the trail heads west on the old roadbed about 400 feet north of the lot. After about half a mile it crosses Abner Creek on a footbridge, then turns left onto another old roadbed following signs to Beech Bottom Falls, recrosses the creek on a second footbridge, and descends to the observation deck. Stay on the trail. Return the same way.
