Ground & access
Rocky old woods road with a steep first climb and two creek crossings; can be wet after rain. Timber rattlesnakes live in the area.

Vernooy Kill Falls drops about 50 to 60 feet over a series of sandstone ledges and pools in the DEC Sundown Wild Forest, Town of Rochester. From the Upper Cherrytown Road lot, cross the road to the trail, which first climbs a steep hill on an old woods road, crosses two creeks, and continues to a wooden footbridge over the Vernooy Kill in the middle of the falls. A stone wall from an old mill stands beside the stream below the falls. Return the same way. This guide leads to the main falls; whether this listing marks a different drop nearer the road is not known.
